CDT specialise in plastic moulding manufacturing, including electrical components and custom prototype fabrication. Established in 1986, they combine technical expertise with a flexible, fabrication service meaning there is no limit on size or quantity, allowing for easy changes from their clients between production runs.

They are currently looking for a Procurement Officer/Buyer to join their current team. You will be responsible for managing all purchasing and supplier related activities. This will include purchasing methods to ensure cost effective and timely procurement of all materials and services.

Job Description:

The Employment Group are currently working in partnership with a well-known, plastic moulding manufacturing company based in the Brackley area. You will be joining a well-established company who have been trading since 1986.

They are currently looking for a Procurement Officer/Buyer to join their current team. You will be responsible for managing all purchasing and supplier related activities. This will include purchasing methods to ensure cost effective and timely procurement of all materials and services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
  • Obtain quotes for materials and services as required.
  • Purchase items as directed by management or production demand.
  • Manage the procurement of ‘free-issued’ materials.
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services, progress chasing as required.
  • Structure purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials whilst minimising cash expenditure and stock holding (e.g, scheduled deliveries and payments).
  • Work with the stock controller to maintain inventory levels to meet production needs.
  • Work closely with internal departments, such as Production, Stock & Finance, to ensure the procurement process is efficient and effective.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports and provide regular updates to management.
  • Provide routine reports on cost savings (Purchase Price Variance) and suppliers’ delivery quality and performances.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure suppliers are audited and suitable, maintaining an Approved Vendor List (AVL) for CDT.
  • Assist the Quality department in resolving issues with non-conforming product.
  • Update line-item pricing as required, for example before sales re-quote a job or if the supplier advises a price change.
  • Implementing or improving processes and procedures, working towards ISO9001 & ISO14001.
  • Developing Clarity as an efficient purchasing system.
  • Advise sales, engineering, and production management in event of ‘last time buy’ or obsolescence notifications.

The requirements of this role include:

  • Previous experience as a Procurement Officer, especially within a manufacturing environment desirable
  • Experience working with purchasing systems / procedures
  • Good time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once

Shift Times:

Monday – Thursday

08:00am – 05:00pm

Friday

08:00am – 2:30pm

Pay Rates:

£12.00 - £14.00 per hour
